He informed me that he does not need the service due to the insurance companies having to escheat the policy to the government if the insurance on the insured person is not collected. The only time a policy is escheated to the government is the time when a policy is still in effect when it reaches the mortality table, age 90. So for example, if you have a 10 year term policy and it is over at age 50, your policy will never get to the government because now your policy is over and it has done its job. Unless someone tells the insurance company that you have passed away during the 10 year term when it was in effect, there will be no payouts.
To think that many individuals assume the government will have the policy if it is not claimed is just incorrect.

World's Only Life Insurance Registry is now Free to the Public
Hello All,
I was approached by a gentleman on the weekend that was from Norway. He now lives in the United States with his wife and two children and has life insurance with an American company. We started talking about life insurance and how important it is now to have with the economy so unstable that you cannot assure that your nest egg that you have been saving up will suffice when the time comes.
He started telling me that his wife knows exactly where things are located if things where to happen to him. He also mentioned to me that everything is in a safe deposit box so that it can be found there. Well, this was very interesting since there is no one in the United States that knows of this. All his family are located in Norway. I ask him bluntly, if he and his wife where to pass in a car accident, who would take care of his children. Would that person even know that he has a safe deposit box let alone a Life Insurance policy? He immediately went into deep thought and could not come up with an answer.
